Three arrested in connection with M-Pesa fraud

Three suspects who police say are part of an organised criminal gang that has been defrauding the public through M-Pesa have been arrested.

Police said the three, two men and a woman, were arrested on Thursday in Bodeni area, Nakuru and were found in possession of several ID cards, mobile phones, money and an assortment of SIM cards.

One of the suspects, Lucy Muthoni Wanjiku, 22, owns an M-Pesa Shop which police believe the suspects have been using as a conduit to withdraw money defrauded from members of the public.
