Suspected gangster shot dead in Gikomba
A suspected gangster was on Friday morning shot dead by police at Gikomba market in Nairobi and a pistol with four round of ammunition recovered from him.
Police said the slain suspect was in gang of four who were trailing a businessman who was to withdraw money from the bank.
Buruburu DCIO, Jeremiah Ikao, told Nairobi News that they trailed the four at the busy market and when they realized they were being followed they started to fire resulting in killing one while the rest fled.
Ikoa said the shot suspect is a well known thug.
“I want to assure the public that we are on the trail of the suspects who escaped. They are suspected to be behind the spate of recent crime here in Gikomba,” Ikao said.
The police boss added that adequate security measures have been put in place to deal with crime and that criminal elements will be dealt with firmly.
