Form two student dies after being hit with stone on genitals
Police in Kitale have launched a manhunt for a middle aged man who allegedly killed a form two student by hitting him with a stone on his private part.
The suspect Simiyu Musambwa, a businessman in Umoja Centre, Kwanza constituency, is reported to have assaulted Antony Wasike, a student at St Moris Secondary, who was in a group of friends heading home after watching football matches on Sunday evening.
“He was in the company of six friends who were discussing results of football matches that evening when the suspect from nowhere hit my son with a stone on his private part,” said Mr Alfred Kakai, 57, the stepfather to the deceased.
FOOT HOSPITAL BILL
According to Mr Kakai, the suspect had agreed to foot the hospital bill for treating his stepson after being forced by irate members of the public. He however abandoned the victim him at the entrance of Mt Elgon Hospital before escaping.
“He accepted to take him to hospital on Monday, but escaped, leaving my son who died at the entrance,” said Mr Kakai.
Kwanza OCPD Wilfred Mogere confirmed the incident and said that an investigation has been launched to establish the whereabouts of the suspect.
“The motive is not known but we are investigating the matter and have also launched a manhunt for the suspect who is at large,” said Mogere.
