Why Sonko removed his Jubilee Party t-shirt during Mlango Kubwa rally – VIDEO

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko was on Sunday forced to remove a Jubilee Party in Mathare t-shirt during a political rally at Mlango Kubwa, Eastleigh.

The flambouyant Senator, who was donning a red t-shirt bearing the new Jubilee Party logo, removed it and gave it out to one of the party’s supporters at the rally.

This was after it emerged that organisers of the rally had not carried enough campaign t-shirts to hand out to supporters at the event.

As the party’s supporters demanded for more t-shirts, Sonko undressed while on the podium and exposed his bare chest as he gave out his t-shirt. He then wore his jacket alone.

Sonko promised he would carry more branded t-shirts in the party’s future rallies.

Mathare MP Steve Kariuki, who recently defected to Jubilee Party after being elected in 2013 on an ODM ticket, also gave out his branded t-shirt,  but lucky for him he had a blue vest inside.

Senator Sonko posted a video on his Facebook timeline that captured  the incident, captioning it, “Due to public demand I had to donate my T shirt who insisted nimpe….Nime learn lesson to be always carrying more t-shirts and hoods kunawatu wanazipenda sana.”

The leaders held their Sunday parallel rally at Mlango Kubwa as the ODM leaders converged at Masinde Muliro grounds.
