Sakaja, Waweru market their anti-Wamalwa coalition

August 30th, 2016 1 min read

Two Jubilee aspirants in the race to replace Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero have dismissed Water Secretary Eugene Wamalwa’s endorsement for the party’s ticket.

Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja and Dagoretti MP Dennis Waweru have said that they will continue working together to ouster Dr Kidero.

“Our main mission is the unity of Nairobi and this is why we are running for Governor,” said Mr Sakaja.

The two said that they are ‘Team Nairobi’ and would work together because they understand Nairobi issues.

KIDERO IS THE ENEMY

“The common jubilee enemy is Kidero so focus is on ousting Kidero but then again those riding on endorsement, it won’t help them,” they said.

They said that their team, which includes Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, would decide on a structure that will guide their campaigns in the coming months.

For the moment, they said that they would continue to work as a team and “anyone’s win” among them is their “collective win”.

FUNERAL SERVICE

Mr Wamalwa’s team includes Margaret Wanjiru of Jesus Is Alive Ministries, Starehe MP Maina Kamanda and Nairobi women representative Rachael Shebesh.

Mr Sakaja and Mr Waweru were speaking after a funeral service at Githima PCEA church in Dagoretti.

Earlier, while on their way to the church, they asked Dagoretti residents to support them in their bid to unite Nairobi residents and prepare for a victory that will ensure gets into City Hall and improves the services.
