Ruto: Security starts with you, protect each other
Deputy President William Ruto has called on Kenyans to work with security agencies to secure the country.
“Our security personnel alone cannot win the war against terrorism and other forms of crime, it requires all of us to work together,” said Mr Ruto who spoke at the African Inland Church, St Joseph Kipkaren in Uasin Gishu County, on Sunday.
Also, Mr Ruto called on Kenyans to pray for the country to achieve its goals in 2016.
He said Kenyans should learn to protect each other, citing the Mandera bus attack where Muslims shielded Christians from terrorists.

“It means we all have a role to play in ensuring our neighbours and country are safe,” added Mr Ruto.
Mr Ruto said security officers are on high alert and are keen to ensure the country is safe.
He said the government has equipped security forces to fight crime.
Other leaders who attended the service included Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago, Mosop MP Kirwa Bitok and his Turbo counterpart Elijah Busienei.
The Deputy President called on leaders to unite Kenyans and shun divisive politics.
“We should strive to unite this country so we can achieve our goals,” said Mr Ruto.
ECONOMY
Meanwhile, Mr Ruto said the Jubilee administration is committed to transforming economies of rural areas.
He promised farmers in Uasin Gishu county that the government will provide them with 50 milk coolers to boost dairy farming in the region and appealed to them to embrace modern farming methods to boost production.
Mr Ruto also called on parents to take their children to school.
“The government has invested heavily in the education sector to ensure every child gets education free of charge,” he said.
