Ruto rebukes Ipsos ‘injili ya shetani’ then deletes tweet
Deputy President William Ruto has termed as ‘injili ya shetani’ (the Devil’s gospel) a recent survey by Ipsos Synovate which listed him among the most corrupt political leaders in Kenya.
In a tweet, which he later deleted, the DP further warned his critics to refrain from accusing him of corruption just because he was not born into a wealthy family.
“Those running ‘injili ya shetani’ that unless your father was a minister, a vice president or a president however hard you work you must remain poor and if not a pauper you must be corrupt and have stolen money should know that those without god fathers we have GOD the father. Shindwe,” Ruto’s tweet read.

Earlier on Thursday, when he hosted Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru and 33 members of the county assembly from the region to a breakfast meeting at his Karen residence, the DP lamented that he had become a punching bag for political lightweights in the country.
“When they are through with the headlines and the corruption propaganda, let us meet at the development arena of the people of Kenya because that is where the real contest is, and we will not allow them to take us to an arena that has no benefit to Kenyans,” he said.
The Ipsos Synovate survey released on Wednesday listed Ruto and Waiguru as the most corrupt political leaders in the country.
