Riverside attack: How to share details of trapped victims

Police have given out mobile telephone numbers of persons to be contacted by anyone with information of people still trapped at the Dusit D2 Hotel.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigation, through their Twitter handle, shared two mobile numbers of senior officers.

They are  0722-839978 belonging to Musa Yego, the head of Flying Squad and 0721-141282 belonging to Mr Philip Ndolo, DCI Nairobi.

“For all those that are receiving information, please use (these numbers) as the alternative to sharing the information. Thank you,” said police on tweeter.

This comes after a frantic questions by Kenyans online who wanted to know how they can channel messages sent to them by loved ones trapped inside the building.

Social media has been a buzz since 3pm on Tuesday after a loud bomb explosion and gunshots were heard at Dusit D2 Hotel.

Inspector General of police Joseph Boinett, in a press briefing, said they suspect the attack was staged by terrorists.
