Revellers busted drinking beyond business hours in city pub – VIDEO

Several people were on Saturday mid-morning arrested club at pub along Duruma road for drinking beyond the stipulated business hours.

The raid was conducted by police officers and city county askaris following a tip-off from members of the public.

What ensued was a cat and mouse chase as the revellers employed all ways possible to evade arrest, including climbing and jumping off walls of the pub located on the first floor of a building within Nairobi’s CBD.

All these efforts however came to nought as the police officers relentlessly flashed out the merry makers, several of whom were injured in the process.

Some of the patrons appeared too drunk to even walk and were carried inside the waiting county van.

According to the police the revellers were arrested for drinking beyond the stipulated hours of bar business.

An officer from the county said the establishment in question is notorious for such acts and that they had received complaints from members of the public.
