Inside story of love triangle that almost killed K’Osewe owner

Fresh details have emerged of the dramatic moments leading to Thursday’s shooting of K’Osewe Ranalo Foods owner William Osewe in the stomach and on the neck at point blank range.

The attacker, Mr Tom Oywa Mboya, a licensed firearm holder, is said to have been shocked to learn that Mr Osewe did not die in the 2.30pm incident in Kasarani.

A scan revealed that a bullet of 9mm calibre is lodged in Mr Osewe’s lower abdomen and he was scheduled for an operation to remove it on Friday. He is admitted at Aga Khan hospital.

In his statement to the police, Mr Mboya said that Mr Osewe had confronted him at an eatery called Hagon, accusing him of having an affair with his wife.

He told police that Mr Osewe swore to kill him there and then but Mr Mboya drew his pistol and shot first.

According to some eyewitnesses, the two were seen walking away from the hotel as they argued. Moments later, the Mr Mboya was seen walking back to the parking after three gunshots were heard.

Mr Osewe fell down in the middle of the road, writhing in pain. He called one of the people around and requested him to bring his car so that he could be rushed to the hospital.

Mr Osewe’s wife who is out of the country is expected to be back anytime.
