Pregnant teenager stabs her ‘husband’ to death in Mlolongo

A pregnant 15 year-old girl was on Sunday evening arrested by police in Mlolongo for allegedly killing her lover with a kitchen knife.

The girl, a Form Two dropout, was arrested for stabbing Mr Kamau Njoroge, 28, in their house in Ngwata estate.

The man, a bodaboda operator, had screamed for help before succumbing to the fatal stab.

According the area chief David Kilonzo, the man’s colleagues attempted to invade the house in an attempt to lynch the suspect, but she locked herself inside until police arrived at the scene and rescued her.

Athi River OCPD Sharma Wario said the two lived together as man and wife before the incident.

“Kamau came to the house at around 5pm and was shortly after heard screaming for help,”said Mr Wario.

Those who rushed to his house found him lying on the floor with a knife stuck in his chest, he said.

Police had to lob teargas canisters to disperse angry bodaboda operators who wanted to lynch the girl.

“When we got to the scene, angry bodaboda operators had already surrounded the house where the wife had locked herself inside and were threatening to beat her up. My officers were forced to use force to save the lady,”said Mr Wario.

The girl is currently being held at Mlolongo police station waiting to be taken to court.

The body of the deceased was taken to Machakos Level 5 Hospital.
