Police say the officers were responding to a robbery in progress at a local church when one of them shot and injured his colleague on the leg.
The robbery suspects managed to escape after a shootout.
The injured officer was rushed to hospital.
In Kayole, a suspected thug was on Tuesday night shot dead by police in a botched robbery.
According to a police report on the incident, the suspect was in the company of three accomplices and were attacking and robbing residents.
Officers on patrol responded after members of the public raised alarm and managed to kill one suspect while the others escaped on foot.
