Four more police officers arrested in connection with kidnap of university students


Four police officers were on Saturday arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, stealing and selling illegal substances to university students.

This brings to five the number of officers arrested in connection with the incident that happened on May 13 in Nakuru county.

The first of the five officers was arrested on Tuesday at Kabarak University following complaints from students at the institution of a kidnapping and robbery incident around the university.

According to an earlier police report by students which was recorded on May 15, two students had reported that on May 13, they were kidnapped by the said officer and another individual then bundled in the car and robbed of all the money they had.

When the officer was arrested on Tuesday, two students positively identified the culprit as the one who had kidnapped them.

The four who were arrested on Saturday are being held at Menengai Police Station and will be arraigned in court after investigations have been completed.
