Pastor Kanyari to seek city parliamentary seat on a Jubilee ticket

Controversial city preacher Victor Kanyari is set to join politics after announcing his interests to vie for the Embakasi Central parliamentary seat.

Kanyari, who will vie on a Jubilee Party ticket, told the Nairobi News on Monday that he has already submitted his nomination papers.

“This is where I was brought up, in fact my first church was in Embakasi Central. Therefore the place holds sentimental values to me.”

He added: “I want to tell the people of Embakasi central to expect change when they vote for me. I know most of their problems including water issues and road problems.”

FORGET SCANDALS

He urged the public to forget the scandals associated with his church.

The preacher rose to fame after an investigative television series exposed the shenanigan ways he used to run the ‘church’.

He had assembled a team of racketeers who rehearsed false testimonies and staged “healings” in front of the congregation.

He also claimed of being able to cure everything from childlessness to HIV/AIDS.

Congregants had to give out a ‘seed money’ of sh310 in order to receive their miracles.
