Nairobi Water has just messed with the wrong person

Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga has blasted the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company for disconnecting water supply to his house even though he is free of debt to the company.

In a series of tweets on Friday, Dr Mutunga narrated how his relationship with Nairobi Water begun to sour last year after he decided to disconnect his meter.

He had stayed a year without seeing a drop of water and decided to rely instead on the borehole that acts as a backup.

But he had to part with sh15,500 as minimum charges for disconnection. Because seven out of 24 tenants had not paid the disconnection, Nairobi Water decided to disconnect the borehole.

The tenants have now been left with a one-day supply of water  and will be forced to look out for the “clean water” tankers.

Dr Mutunga has now reached to city residents with similar stories in order to start a movement for “clean and safe water in adequate quantities” for Nairobi residents.

Below is his sequence of 12 tweets.
