Mob descends on thief in Kileleshwa

A suspected thief was on Saturday attacked by angry shopkeepers along Kileleshwa’s Mwingi Road after he was allegedly caught stealing a crate of milk.

The man was tied up as the shopkeepers interrogated him for minutes before beating him.

“I raised alarm as soon as I saw him trying to run away with the crate. He told us he was from Kawangware and that he was working alone. Some of my colleagues became impatient and at some point wanted to kill him,” said David Maina, an Mpesa attendant.

According to shopkeepers in the area, the delivery men usually leave the milk outside the shops before they open and nobody has ever tried to steal the milk.

The man later staggered towards the Kileleshwa-Lavington bypass with his hands still tied up after being released by the mob.
