Miguna’s silence on deputy governor job is killing us – Nairobians

Nairobians are eagerly waiting for Miguna Miguna to speak out on his nomination for the deputy governor role, 12 hours after word went out on social media.

Miguna has uncharacteristically retreated from social media platforms since Governor Mike Sonko’s letter nominating for the seat leaked out.

The fiery lawyer’s only response so far has been to retweet a user who claimed the nomination was “populist politics.”

RAILA-UHURU HANDSHAKE

On major announcements, Dr Miguna has always been among the first to give reactions on social media,  including the famous handshake between Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta, which  he christened as the hand-cheque.

During Labour Day celebrations, when Mr Odinga announced an end to Nasa’s boycott of some consumer products, the lawyer quickly issued a statement to declare that the boycott was still on.

And on the ongoing referendum debate, Dr Miguna quickly declared that “a referendum cannot solve a society’s intractable problems. It won’t eliminate tribalism, theft of public resources, extrajudicial killings, human rights abuses, disobedience of court orders, homelessness & joblessness. These will only be solved by visionary leaders of integrity.”

Here are tweets of Nairobians who are waiting for Dr Miguna to break his silence on his nomination.
