Man in court for taunting police officers

A man was arraigned in a Milimani court on Friday charged with creating disturbance and calling security officers “useless”.

James Njuguna Njoroge was accused of creating disturbance at Nyayo House on May 27 this year by insulting Administration Police officers manning the gates at the premises.

The prosecution told the court that Njoroge told the officers that they are “useless officers who are being killed by Al Shaabab terrorists in Garissa.”

NOT GUILTY

The accused created a scene interfering with the operations at Nyayo House.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogembo, Njoroge pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Chief Magistrate released him on a cash bail of Sh 20, 000 or a bond of Sh100, 000 with a surety of the same amount.

The mentioning of the case was set for June 11 this year with the hearing on June 18.
