Lenana School in turmoil after protests over student’s death


Students unrest rocked Lenana School on Monday following the death of a Form Three student on Saturday.

The students spilled out to the adjacent Ngong Road on Monday at 9am before they were repulsed back to school by anti-riot police.

The school’s administration on Monday allowed students who want to return home to leave. KCSE candidates are however still in school.

The administration said the student died at PCEA Kikuyu Hospital.

Students told journalists on Monday that their yet to identified colleague had been admitted at the school dispensary for days. He stopped talking and eating solid food on Friday.

The parent’s of the deceased student were notified of the death and have already viewed the body.

The school’s administrators and board have been holed in a meeting since 11am.
