KTN news anchor’s vehicle is stolen at company’s parking lot

A vehicle belonging to Standard Group journalist Joy Doreen Biira has been stolen. Nairobi News understands the vehicle was stolen on Christmas eve at the media houses’ main offices along Mombasa Road.

We could not however immediately establish how the thieves accessed the vehicle, a Merceedes Benz 220, Registration number KBY 831K, which had been parked at the car park.

Immediately after the theft occurred, Ms Biira’s colleagues at Standard Group, including Investigative editor Mohamed Ali and sports news anchor Lynne Wachira, made an appeal on social media for information that could lead to the recovery of the car.

This development marks what has been a challenging year for the Ugandan journalist who anchors business news at KTN.

Late last month, Ms Biira was arrested and detained by Ugandan authorities for highlighting the deadly clashes between Ugandan forces and armed loyalists of a monarch in Kasese region.

The journalist, who is facing charges of “abetting terrorism” is currently out on bond.
