Journalists covering Laboso inauguration forced to sit down – PHOTOS

August 23rd, 2017 1 min read

Journalists covering the inauguration of Dr Joyce Laboso as Bomet Governor found themselves in unchartered waters after the crowd forced them to sit down.

It was an unprecedented demand, given that journalists at most events are often allowed access even to restricted areas.

But not at Bomet Green Stadium on Tuesday.

In an open field, where the audience had mostly sat down, journalists in front of the crowd had chosen to stand up so they could hold their cameras, take photos or just observe proceedings and take notes.

But it was a locals’ day and they didn’t want anything to do with journalists.

One man from the crowd argued that he had travelled 30 kilometres to watch the ceremony live and didn’t want any interference.
