People are loving this ‘James Bond’ advisory by KCAA

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has set the social media alight with its latest safety campaign targeting increased use of helicopters ahead of August 8 polls.

The regulator on Tuesday put out a notice warning the public against hanging on politicians’ aircraft during campaigns, sparking a sharp reaction from Internet users.

Last year, a viral video clip emerged of a Bungoma mourner identified as Saleh Wanjala dangling below a helicopter that had transported the remains of slain businessman Jacob Juma.

The social media later nicknamed him James Bond. A similar incident happened in January in Meru when another man clung onto Nasa Raila Odinga’s helicopter.

Both men were later arrested and charged in court.

But the online community has been miffed and entertained in equal measure with the KCAA’s advertisement. Here are some of the reactions on Facebook.
