There seems to be a common trend among smartphone manufacturers lately, which is their obsession with a notch on the screen.
It’s basically a small bar ‘eating into the screen’ and it houses the front camera, earpiece and the light & proximity sensor. And going by the hype around it, people seem to love it!
However, most of the devices that have taken this design angle fall on the pricey end, this meant folks on a budget could only dream of it, until now.
Infinix mobile, a brand synonymous with budget smartphones, has rolled out its first ever notch display smartphone, following a trend set by premium devices the likes of the Essential phone and the iPhone X.
The mid-range device named the S3x borrows a lot of features from the recently launched Infinix S3 but with a massive design boost, mostly aping the the looks of the iPhone X.
The 6.2’’ HD+ display has a cutout at the top (notch) which in this device has the 16MP AI selfie camera, earpeace, and sensors.

The device is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor with 3GBs of RAM and an internal storage of 32GBs, expandable to up to 128GBs.
The device, which Infinix markets as an AI selfie smartphone, boasts a 16MP front camera and two more cameras at the back; 13+2 MP cameras to enable bokeh photography.
It also comes with a generous 4000mAh battery but the USB charging port included is the older Type-B, would have been nice if it came with the more modern Type-C.
However, the device comes with quick charge technology which allows it to charge up the battery fast.
A fingerprint scanner sits at the back next to the cameras, the rest of the back is covered with some sort of shock absorbent plastic material. And speaking of which, the back case is quite shinny and prone to fingerprints.
