The Immigration Department’s choice of photo while inviting Kenyans on Twitter to a question and answer session seemingly threw some shade on Nairobi governor Mike Sonko.

The department used a photo of a flooded GPO bus stop that located right outside the Huduma Centre.

Tweeps asked why the government department was using such a photo and when eventually one user asked what would be done about the flooded bus stop, the department replied, “Nairobi Governor can answer that.”

Governor Sonko’s administration has been judged harshly over the poor state of roads in the capital, drainage system, uncollected garbage and hawkers’ invasion of the CBD.

The immigration department’s choice of using a flood photo made Kenyans online to start questioning its intention.

A user posed, “What does this photo depict when #AskImmigrationKE uses as their profile picture in their current Permits Verification & Registration exercise? Is this how you market Kenya?”
