I’m alive and well, says KTN anchor with similar names to slain TV actor


KTN presenter Jamal Gaddafi has come out to allay fears over his rumoured death, following with the tragic death of his namesake, TV actor Jamal Nassul Gaddafi.

Through his Instagram account, the TV presenter, who became an overnight celebrity after winning the second season of KTN’s The Presenter, said he woke up on Wednesday to the disturbing rumours that he had been stabbed to death having been caught with someone’s wife..

He said he even received calls from concerned callers seeking to confirm if indeed he was dead.

He blames the spread of the fake on social media to bloggers who failed to verify their stories before publishing them.

“All in all I’m okay as you can see and my condolences to the family of Jamal Nassul, Mungu amfutie madhambi yake, yeye mbele sisi nyuma. May his soul rest in peace,” he wrote.

The actor was reportedly stabbed to death with a kitchen knife by his lover after a quarrel at Arks Hotel in Mlolongo.

ACTING ROLES

According to witnesses, he was rushed to Shalom Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The suspect, Ms Grace Kanamu, has since been arrested and is being held at Mlolongo Police Station.

Nassul had acting roles in several TV programmes, including Vioja Mahakamani (KBC), Junior (KTN) and Auntie Boss which airs on Tuesdays on NTV.
