Here are three ways Sonko can make Nairobi clean again – garbage collectors

A waste collectors lobby group has asked Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko to address issues that have made garbage management a problem in the city.

Speaking Friday at City Hall, Waste and Environment Management Association of Kenya chairman Chege Kariuki identified high licensing costs, poor access roads and polythene bags ban as issued Mr Mbuvi should address.

He asked the governor to eliminate garbage cartels which have monopolised collection and transportation.

“We implore you to allow free and fair competition in the waste management industry which is possible through non-biased enforcement of the laws,” said Mr Kariuki.
