Happy birthday Ruto… Here are some gifts from Kenyans

As Deputy President William Ruto turned 49 on Monday, Kenyans online had gifts for him which they shared in the form of a hashtag.

#RutosBirthdayGifts became the top trend on Monday with users sharing the gifts they would get the deputy president on his birthday.

This even as politicians, among them Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, wished the deputy president a happy birthday.

One user, @oguta_ruth tweeted, “#RutosBirthdayGifts happy birthday ???? DP, may you enjoy your big day na pia usambaze keki.”

@SellahKiron tweeted, “Okay…. I think the best #RutosBirthdayGifts is prayers prayers prayers…with prayers he can do better.”

@natoshaah had a present for him, “#RutosBirthdayGifts the land of milk and honey.”

@MoleculeWaUku reminded the DP of indigenous delicacy, “#RutosBirthdayGifts Mursik kwa wingi….”

This comes a day after Cord leader Raila Odinga asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to order a lifestyle audit of Deputy President William Ruto to establish the source of his wealth.

Mr Odinga claimed Mr Ruto was living beyond his means as his salary alone could not support his expensive lifestyle.

But in a rejoinder during an interview on Citizen TV on Sunday Mr Ruto said that he was ready for a lifestyle audit adding that he has documents that show how he acquired his wealth.
