Governor Waititu aka Santa Claus comes to town
Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has become the subject of hilarious comments on social media after stepping out dressed as Santa Claus during a tree lighting ceremony at his county on Tuesday night.
Pictures which are making rounds online captures the self-styled ‘Baba Yao’ in a brown coat and Santa’s trademark red hat and overflowing woolly beards.
“This evening I held a charity Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at the Kiambu County Headquarters in Kiambu Town. My county government through the office of the first Lady in collaboration with the department of social services identified the needy and vulnerable institution in each Sub County to benefit from our Christmas donations,” wrote Governor Waititu.
COMICAL OUTFIT
The online community however only saw the comical, if not absurd, side of Waititu’s Christmas outfit.
“The saddest things I’ve seen in the last two days is the Kiambu Christmas tree and Waititu as Santa,” @kiruti tweeted.
“Lord have mercy! He needs to at least style up as a Father Christmas and have a proper, well decorated Xmas tree,” @annahkimani commented.
