An artisan in Gikomba market was on Friday handed the keys to a brand new house worth Sh7.8 million.

Thirty four year-old James Njagi walked away with the two bedroomed house located at Richland apartments in Kahawa West in the ongoing Safaricom promotion Maisha ni M-Pesa Tu.

The father of one becomes the first winner of the competition in which the telco company will be giving away six more houses.

Mr Njagi, who was accompanied by his wife and young daughter, said that it was quite a surprise when he received the call from Safaricom that had won the apartment.
