An American television host has rekindled the debate on President Barack Obama’s faith and its effect in the ongoing war against terror.

Bill O’ Reilly who hosts the political commentary show The O’Reilly Factor on Wednesday aired fresh photos of President Obama clad in Muslim attire during his Kenyan half brother Malik Obama’s wedding.

The photos that were taken in the 90s during Malik’s wedding in Maryland have reawakened debate that the President has “deep emotional ties” to the religion of his grandfather.

According to Obama’s paternal step grandmother Mama Sarah Obama, her husband, Mzee Hussein Onyango Obama was a catholic who later converted to Islam and took up the name Hussein.

During the Wednesday show, O’Reilly questioned the way the Obama administration has handled terror.

“There is no question the Obama administration’s greatest failure is allowing the Islamic terror group ISIS to run wild, murdering thousands of innocent people all over the world, including many Muslims,” said O’Reilly.

“Mr Obama has never, never acknowledged that mistake, nor does he define the ISIS threat accurately. That group is killing innocent people in order to impose a radical version of Islam on the world,” the newsman added.

“The jihad is solely based on theology, perverted as it may be,” said O’Reilly during his show.

In 2008, when Obama was running against Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination, a photo of Obama donning Islamic attire emerged and Obama’s campaign blamed Clinton for the smear.

Obama’s step grandmother Mama Sarah Obama defended the President during the campaign stating that while her husband was Muslim the children and grandchildren had different religions.

“Bringing such pictures that are trying to imply that not only is he a foreigner, he is a Muslim is wrong, because that is not what he is,” Mama Sarah told USA Today back then.

“In the world of today, children have different religions from their parents,” she added during the 2008 interview.
