Family kills kin for being drunk and noisy

Police in Ngong’ are holding a man who together with his three brothers and father allegedly killed one of their family members early Monday Morning.

Christopher Ndegwa is said to have beaten to death their brother, Moses Ndung’u , during an altercation after the  latter came home drunk.

Ngong’ OCPD, Mohammed Farah said the deceased arrived home at 4:00am while drunk.

“When he made a lot of noise, his father came out and asked him to keep quiet but he persisted. His three brothers joined their father and started beating him.

“They are said to have taken wooden sticks and water pipes and started beating up the deceased and took him to his room,” Mr Farah said.

A brother to the deceased, Julius Kamau, said the man had sustained neck injuries and that the family woke up to find him dead.

Police arrested Christopher Ndegwa to assist with investigations, but the other two brothers escaped and are still at large.

The body of the deceased was taken to City Mortuary for autopsy.

“After the autopsy, we will be able to establish whether the deceased had other health problems or whether he solely died as a result of the injuries he sustained after the beating,” Mr Farah said.

The accused will be taken to the Milimani law courts on Tuesday to answer to charges of murder as police continue searching for his brothers.
