Why moral policeman Ezekiel Mutua can’t use his Facebook accounts

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua Facebook account and fan page have been hacked.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by KFCB, Mr Mutua lost access to the accounts last Friday following suspicious activities by unknown people.

“I first noted suspicious activity on the account on 2nd August 2017, when a strange number was added to my account details, replacing the original recovery number. Prior to this I have been receiving warning by Facebook on detected suspicious activities by people who were attempting to access my account from Russia and turkey,” said Mr Mutua in a statement shared on KFCB twitter handle.

SPREADING HATE

Mr Mutua warned his 5000 friends and 20,000 followers to beware of any information posted on the pages spreading hate speech and other dangerous information purporting to be him.

“I am a firm believer in responsible use of social media and aware of the dangers cyber criminals can cause. I therefore appeal to Facebook to expedite the recovery of my account and to grant me all necessary protection and assistance on this matter to avoid the possibility of the hackers using it to spread hate speech.”
