Eastleigh businessman shot dead by armed gang

Gunmen shot dead a businessman and robbed him of an unknown amount of cash in Eastleigh, Nairobi, on Wednesday night.

Mustafa Sheikh, 35, was at the premises of Kenzi Enterprise Ltd, near Dar Es Salam Mosque, when he was confronted by a gang of five men, one of them armed with a pistol.

There was a brief confrontation before one of them shot the businessman in the right shoulder. He was taken to hospital, where he died.

Officers from the Shauri Moyo Police Station sized a 9mm cartridge at the scene, which was taken for ballistic examination.

Last month, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale’s bodyguard was shot on both thighs and the right side of the stomach in Eastleigh.

The gunmen also stole the firearm of Administration Police Constable Abdiaziz Mohammed. The pistol is yet to be recovered.
