Woman sues DP Ruto for child support
Deputy President William Ruto has been dragged to court for failing to take care of a child he sired out of wedlock.
Through lawyer Gitobu Imanyara, the distraught mother faults the DP of refusing to provide them with essential needs like food, decent clothing and a place of stay.
The woman also accuses Mr Ruto –Kenya’s second in command- of refusing to pay school fees for their daughter and medication.
She also claims in the case documents that, as a result, their child is bound to “suffer irreparable loss to healthy growth and good educational development”.
“The minor is in dire need of and is entitled to basic necessities since her mother is not able to adequately provide for her…Mr Ruto has totally neglected his parental responsibility as demanded of him,” Mr Imanyara said.
The woman wants the case, which was filed on Thursday, certified urgent and heard on a priority basis since they will continue to suffer irreparably.
