DCI summons Governor Obado’s wife over Sharon’s murder – VIDEO
The wife of Migori Governor has been summoned by police for questioning over the death of her love rival, university student Sharon Otieno who was carrying her husband’s child.
Mrs Hellen Obado is scheduled to appear at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters on Kiambu Road on Wednesday.
The DCI summoned Hellen a week after they had interrogated her husband Governor Okoth Obado who confessed to have had a year long love affair with the 26 year-old university student.
He did not explicitly say the baby Ms Sharon was carrying was his, but he did not deny it either.
Sharon is reported to have copied her romantic chats with Governor Obado to his wife Hellen and son Daniel.
Sharon’s body was found in a thicket in Homa Bay on September 4, a day after she was kidnapped together with Nation reporter Barrack Oduor. The journalist managed to escape from his abductors.
COUNTY EMPLOYEE SURRENDERS
On Tuesday, an employee of Migori County government surrendered to the police as detectives intensified hunt for associates thought to have had a hand in the murder.
The employee identified as Caspal Obiero who works as a clerk in Migori County but routinely serves errands for Governor Okoth Obado presented himself to the police in Oyugis town, after a vehicle he drives was linked to the kidnapping incident.
Detectives questioned him at Oyugis Police Station and had him file a statement on what he knows about the murder of the student and abduction of Nation journalist Barack Oduor.
Our sources said he was interrogated for hours regarding the vehicle that was used in abducting the duo, and which was later linked to him.
