Crooks dump 4-truckloads of raw sewage at venue of ‘banned’ Raila rally

Crooks on Monday night poured raw sewage at Jacaranda grounds, the venue of the prayer rally convened for Tuesday by the opposition Nasa.

The raw sewage, estimated to have been dumped by between four to five exhausters, was poured at the spot where a dais was to be erected.

It was not clear who poured the raw sewage, whose stench kept many people at bay.

For the better part of Tuesday morning, opposition supporters engaged police in running battles as they tried to force themselves into the Jacaranda grounds to hold a parallel rally.

The police dispersed the youths who were marching to the grounds with teargas.

Canisters were also lobbed inside people’s homes.

BEAT EVERYONE

The police also beat everyone they came across the way.

The Nasa leadership has vowed to go on with their meeting despite police saying they will not allow it.

This is despite the heavy presence of police officers who have sealed the venue off.

The angry supporters regrouped and blocked roads making it impossible for motorists to pass.

Nasa principals have insisted that their rally will go on despite police outlawing it.

On Monday, Nasa Co Principal Moses Waitegula said no amount of police will stop them from holding the meeting.

Nasa leader Raila Odinga has said he will not recognize President Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidency despite the Supreme Court upholding his reelection in the repeat presidential elections held on October 26.

The Nasa rally is expected to be addressed by Mr Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi,Senator James Orengo and other Nasa leaders.
