Top city restaurant goofs with pig menu on Idd-Ul-Fitr – PHOTOS

A top restaurant in Nairobi is in trouble after posting an embarrassing picture of a baked pig as part of its menu to celebrate Idd-Ul-Fitr.

The photo by Picazzo Restaurant, posted on Instagram, was part of a marketing campaign to wish Muslims Eid Mubarak and invite them to sample their delicacies.

The restaurant is located at The Hub, a shopping mall in Karen.

The photo quickly went viral and drew the ire of netizens who deemed it an insult to the Muslim community.

Islam forbids the consumption of pork.

The photo has since been taken down by the restaurant and an apology issued via a statement.

“The Picazzo Restaurant management’s attention has been drawn to a regrettable post earlier on our Instagram handle. The circumstance leading to the posting are currently under investigations. We unreservedly and sincerely wish to apologize to our Muslim brothers and sisters,” read part of the statement.
