City cop on the run after shooting neighbour’s dog dead


A police officer based in Nairobi is on the run after he shot and killed a neighbour’s dog that wondered to his compound over the weekend.

The Administration Police officer, who was spending the weekend at his rural home in Masinga sub-county, Machakos county, took out his rifle and shot the dog twice on Sunday night.

According to the neighbour who reported the incident, they heard two gunshots and a sharp bark by the dog from his neighbour’s compound at around 10pm.

In his report to the police, the owner said his dog returned to his compound bleeding from both sides of the abdomen, before it fell on the ground in front of him and died.

When police visited the crime scene, the suspect was nowhere to be seen. Police suspect he went into hiding using a government vehicle registration number GK B 288 M.
