Cheeky message Coasterians want Joho to read
Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has become the latest subject of thinly-veiled poetic unfaltering messages printed on Swahili lesos.
Since the revelation that his government would spend Sh30 million to eradicate Indian House Crows (Kunguru) menace in the coastal city, lesos with a message to Joho have been printed.
A photo of one of the pieces shared online displayed the coded message to Joho which read, “Taka zimekushinda ya kunguru utayaweza” (Garbage collection has proved too much for you, what of the crows).

The coastal communities love sharing messages through the wordings printed on their lesos.
Most messages are meant to caution and give wise counsel on life to members of the society.
Online, Kenyans lauded the creativity of the coastal people;
