Human rights activist Boniface Mwangi has taken a swipe at President Uhuru Kenyatta’s outright attack on the Judiciary after they annulled the August 8 General Election.

that declared him the winner, calling the presidents and his supporters assaults as sideshows and unnecessary.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Mr Mwangi, who contested and lost the Starehe parliamentary seat, told off Presidential Kenyatta, saying that if indeed the allegations of the judiciary having been bribed so as to render their decision of nullifying the election, then the president who is commander in chief would have been privy to this information and made it public.

“President Uhuru has access to the military, the National Intelligence Service and Kenya Police Service. If money exchanged hands, it would be very easy for them to track it. If there is probable cause, a search warrant can be issued and the houses of the mentioned Supreme Court judges searched,” Mr Mwangi said.

“The hashtags and street protests are just sideshows and unnecessary distractions. They’re a nuisance and they will end up dividing Kenya even more,” he further wrote.

He said that as a victim of fake news and false accusations by paid bloggers, he stands by the Supreme Court.

Already, petitions seeking the removal of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu and Justice Isaac Lenaola have been presented to the Judicial Service Commission.

On Tuesday Jubilee supporters also held demonstrations outside the Supreme Court and in other parts of the country to protest the Supreme Court ruling.
