Bishop Margaret Wanjiru loses her sleek Prado to auctioneers

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is planning to auction Bishop Margaret Wanjiru’s sleek car which has overstayed at the Mombasa port.

The former Starehe Member of Parliament’s car, a Toyota Prado, is among the 568 cars that will be viewed on the 17th and 18th of December.

In a notice, KRA Port Operations Chief Manager Joseph Kaguru gave the owners a 30 days’ notice to get the cars from the Port failure to which they will auction them.

PUBLIC AUCTION

“Notice is given that unless the goods are entered and removed from the custody of the Customs Warehouse Keeper, Kilindini within 30 days of this notice, they will be sold by public auction on 19th December, 2018,” says Mr Kaguru,.

The cars have over-stayed at the port and in the process attracted damage costs.

This is not the first time the former Governorship aspirant property is being put up on grabs.

DAMAGED CAR

Early this year, Gladson Auctioneers Limited was hired by the Nairobi Water and Sewarage Company (NWSC) to help them recover Sh534,000.

This is after her son, Stephen Kariuki, also a former MP, damaged a car that belongs to NWSC in 2014 and failed to compensate them.

The company then got a court order giving them the nod to go ahead and recover what Mr Kariuki owed by auctioning properties of the two.
