Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno on Saturday bid farewell to bachelorhood by tying the knot to the love of his life Nayianoi Ntutu in a colourful wedding attended by top political leaders.

Among the distinguished guests who attended the ceremony at Emurua Dikirr Primary School in Narok County was Deputy President William Ruto and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Also in attendance was leader of majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale,  the Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen, Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso, her predecessor Isaac Ruto and Public Service Chief Administrative Secretary Rachel Shebesh.

HIGH-POWERED ENTOURAGE

Mr Ngeno’s team, arrived in two helicopters and top-of-the range vehicles in a high-powered entourage that included Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, MPs Oscar Sudi (Kapseret), Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills), Sabina Chege (Murang’a Woman Representative), Wilson Sossion (Nominated) and the DP’s aide Farouk Kibet.

The ceremony was a mix-up of Maasai and Kipsigis cultures, symbolic of Ngeno’s political leadership as a Kipsigis MP representing a constituency in Maasai land.

KIND WORDS

Ms Nayianoi is the daughter of Mr Livingstone ole Ntutu, the step brother of former Narok Senator Stephen ole Ntutu and Chief Administrative Secretary in the Interior Ministry Patrick ole Ntutu.

All leaders present had kind words to offer to the newly weds.

“I am happy you can now settle down as a family man. The problems we have with you in the past is now water under the bridge. You are now an elder. Welcome to the married club.” Ruto said while congratulating the 45-year old MP.

Mr Odinga said as a long term friend of the Kanu MP, he had repeatedly brought to his attention the fact that he was getting old and should find himself a wife.

“He looked for me and insisted I must attend his wedding as he had finally found the love of his life. I am happy for him,” Mr Odinga said.
