Babu Owino exposes cash-for-motorbike con game
Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has warned city residents of fraudsters soliciting money from members of the public claiming to be associated with him.
In a post shared by the MP on his Facebook page, the individuals claim to have been authorized by the legislator to distribute motorbikes to the youth.
However, a person is first required to send Sh5,000 to them to aid in the processing of a logbook.
The MP says he would reward anyone with information that would lead to the arrest of the culprits in question.
“I wish to distance myself from individuals who are conning members of the public on pretence that they have purportedly been authorized to distribute motorbikes to the youth on my behalf and are asking for money to help them process logbooks for the said motorbikes,” wrote Babu Owino wrote on Facebook.
“I will handsomely reward anyone who will provide information that would lead to arrest of the mentioned con artists,” he added.
