Autopsy reveals details on teen’s death after scuffle with Octopizzo

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations, (DCI) detectives on Monday interrogated a number of people after a Strathmore University student’s death was linked to a famous musician.

Post mortem on the body of Kenneth Abom revealed that he suffered multiple fractures on the limbs, abdomen and the head, after he fell from the fourth floor apartment in Woodley Estate on Thursday.

The family blamed musician Henry Ohanga, popularly known as Octopizzo, saying he had before the suicide, assaulted the teenager who was passionate about music.

BATHROOM WINDOW

But neighbours who spoke to the Daily Nation said the musician had nothing to do with the boy’s actions, as the teenager had left Octopizzo’s house an hour before he jumped through the bathroom window.

A neighbour, Ruth Wanjira said the teen went to Octopizzo’s house at noon on Thursday and moments later, there was a scuffle. The rapper had only stayed in that house for two weeks.

“We heard the scuffle when Octopizzo was holding him outside the gate. The rapper was calling neighbours to help him identify the man, because he thought he was a thief,” the neighbour said.

“One hour later, we heard someone screaming from a house located on the fourth floor of an apartment located 500 metres from Octopizzo’s house. The boy had jumped from the bathroom window. Octopizzo was not in their home,” another neighbour said.

The rapper told the media that he was alone in his bedroom when he saw the boy enter through the main door. He said he asked him who he was but the boy kept quiet.

‘TALKED TO FATHER’

“I chased him out of the house and neighbours identified him. Actually, his father was the first person I talked to after the incident. I did not know why he came to my house. An hour later, we heard that the boy dropped from the fourth floor,” Octopizzo said.

The 19-year-old boy was taken to the Nairobi Women’s Hospital and then referred to Kenyatta National Hospital. He died on Saturday.

On Monday, Kenneth’s father, Aggrey Abom, said that his son had injuries in the head even before he jumped off the apartment.
