American techie making it big in Nairobi with app for kiosks owners – VIDEO


He was born and raised in Chicago but travelled halfway across the globe to sell stock to kiosk owners in Nairobi.

Twenty two year-old Daniel Yu did is surely is flowing against the tide. He is the chief executive of Soko Watch, a company that was last year named in the Forbes 30 under 30 list.

He relocated to Kenya after pitching his app to Wrigley head office in Chicago and they adviced him to set up shop in Nairobi.

His app basically provides a simply solution to local kiosk owners.

“Most kiosk owners in Nairobi an around the country spend a lot of time money trying to restock. My app enables them to order their stock without having to leave their shops and I deliver it to them free of charge,” Mr Yu explained to Nairobi News.
