Blogger Alai bashed for ‘Sh200k kiosk money’ post

Blogger Robert Alai has yet again angered some of his followers on Facebook for equating Sh200,000 monthly to running a kiosk business.

Alai made the comment in response to one user by the name Eugene Nyambati who sensationally claimed that the blogger had landed a job as a consultant for President Uhuru Kenyatta – who is seeking re-election – for a monthly salary of Sh 203,302 and house allowance of Sh 23,087.

The claims came just days after the controversial blogger was let off the hook in a case in which he had been charged with posting an offensive post targeting the president three years ago.

But in typical Alai style, the blogger responded by rubbishing Nyambati’s claims saying that he is past receiving Sh200,000 as a monthly pay.

“I overtook that measly payout (Sh200,000) more than 7 years ago. That money can’t even pay my bills for 2 weeks. That’s why I could support Raila from 2002 to 2016 without asking him for a single cent. I’d rather start a village kiosk,” Alai wrote.

Alai’s post was, however, not taken kindly be a good number of his followers who bashed him for the remarks.
