Former Nairobi Mayor Aladwa clinches Makadara ODM ticket

Former Nairobi Mayor George Aladwa on Monday trounced former MP Reuben Ndolo to clinch the ODM ticket for Makadara constituency.

Aladwa, who has in the past been in court for incitement and hate speech charges, garnered 5,385 against Ndolo’s 1, 812 votes.

The two, who are both fierce loyalists of party leader Raila Odinga, had locked horns in their quest to secure the opposition party’s ticket for the parliamentary seat.

CAUSING CHAOS

Ndolo was once the area MP (2003-2007) and this is his third failed attempt at making a return to elective politics.

Senator Mike Sonko represented Makadara in parliament in 2007 -2013 before the current MP Bernard Mutura Kangara was elected.

Kangara was last week being hunted by the police for causing chaos in Buruburu during the Jubilee Party primaries.
