Nasa leaders to address the nation before IEBC announces results

Nasa leaders are set to hold a press conference at 12:45pm.

In the address, to be held at ABC Place in Westlands, the opposition leaders will “spell out the next steps.”

The press conference comes around the same time that the IEBC is expected to announce the final presidential results.

Mr Raila Odinga is under pressure by international observers and head of missions to concede defeat.

International observers in their respective press conferences said the elections in Kenya were peaceful and urged Kenyans to allow the electoral commission to conclude tallying.

They all however steered clear of Mr Odinga’s claims that the IEBC database  was hacked, stating that they observed the voting process and it was okay.

Results being streamed on the IEBC portal show President Uhuru Kenyatta is leading but Nasa, in a press conference on Thursday, released contrary results that showed Mr Odinga leading.

By Friday 11am, preparation at the national tallying centre were in top gear with indications that President Uhuru Kenyatta was going to be present during the commission’s announcement.

Protocol officers were seen carrying what appeared to be the presidential seat towards a lounge designated for the presidential candidates.
