Only one name excited Kenyans in presidential results


During the announcement of the final presidential elections results on Friday night by the Chairman of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Wafula Chebukati the pronouncement of one particular name excited the online community.

Shakhalaga Khwa Jirongo, who is popularly known as Cyrus Jirongo, may have been an also run in the presidential race but every mention of his name by Chebukati provided a comical relief for millions of Kenyans following the proceedings.

Little wonder the former Lugari MP trended throughout Chebukati ‘s lengthy declaration of the presidential election winner with some people likening his name to that of the popular song Boom Shack-A-Lak.

The song was released by Steven Kapur, better known by the stage name Apache Indian who is a British singer-songwriter and reggae DJ.
