Nakumatt takes the path of franchise market

Nakumatt Holdings at the weekend announced it was deepening its franchise business in the retail market.

High end brands previously unavailable locally are now lined up with the newly opened Lavington Curve Mall featuring Délifrance, a kiosk offering a variety of French bakery products. Délifrance is a catering franchising firm.

They have also added the foreign footwear brands, Skechers and Clarks labels, at the Nakumatt Junction and the Thika Road Mall (TRM).

According to Nakumatt Holdings, the two Skechers stores were developed at a cost of Sh30 million.

The Kids & Co, a children’s toys retailing store is another franchise on Thika Road Mall tailored to expand Nakumatt portfolio.

The franchised brands come in the wake of Nakumatt Blue Labels products being priced lower than other manufactures.

In the meantime, the Lavington Curve Mall has opened to serve the upmarket area.

“Nakumatt hopes the new branches and an expanded product portfolio featuring Nakumatt Blue Label and Nakumatt Select Private brands will spur sales,” said MD Atul Shah.
